PERUM Port is divided into 4 areas of operation which was established by Government Regulation No. 15 in 1983. PERUM status is then changed again into PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I to IV in 1992 to date.
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) is a part one of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) that manages the seaport services in Indonesia, established on December 1, 1992 according to Deed of Company Pndirian No. 3 by Notary Imas Fatimah, and the deed of amendment No. dated May 5, 1998 by Notary Imas Fatimah Bachelor of Law.
Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) head office domiciled in Jakarta, has operations in 10 provincial areas and manages 12 harbors a cultivated, namely: Port Bay Bayur in West Sumatra, Jambi in Jambi province Ports, Port of Palembang in South Sumatra Province, the Port Bengkulu Province Bengkulu, the Port of Long in the province of Lampung, Tanjung Pandan and Balam Jetty Port in the Province of Bangka Belitung, Banten Port in Banten Province, Port of Tanjung Priok and Sunda Kelapa in DKI Jakarta, Port of Cirebon in West Java Province and the Port of Pontianak in West Kalimantan Province.

In support of the blue sky program and the diversification of the business, PGN is developing land-based gas transportation modes, namely inland LNG and CNG. These will be used to distribute gas to markets or industrial zones, particularly those beyond the reach of the natural gas pipeline network.

And after the Indonesian Independence day on August 17, 1945, the Indonesian youth took control of those electrical companies in September 1945 and handed it over to the government of the Republic of Indonesia.
On October 27, 1945 President Sukarno established the Jawatan Listrik dan Gas (Bureau of Electricity And Gas), with the capacity of the electrical energy generator only 157.5 MW.
On January 1, 1961, the bureau of Electricity and Gas was changed into BPU PLN (''Badan Pimpinan Umum Perusahaan Listrik Negara) which dealt in the areas of electricity, agas, and kokas (a type of fuel derived from the remains of coal).
On January 1, 1965, BPU-PLN was closed and two governmental companies, were set up, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) handling the electrical energy and Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) handling gas. The capacity of the electrical-power generator of PLN, then, was 300 MW.
Indonesia's new electricity law, approved in September 2002, requires an end to PLN's monopoly on electricity distribution within five years, after which time private companies (both foreign and domestic) will be permitted to sell electricity directly to consumers. However, all companies will need to use PLN's existing transmission network.
PLN currently employs 47,532 staff across the country with 15.6% of them having graduated and post graduated.
In the first half of 2011, PT PLN generated 88.2 terawatt-hours (TWh). They are generating by 24 percent oil-based fuel with planned to reduce at 3 percent by 2013 and at 1.73 percent by 2014.

Belawan port development The key is to improve the navigation channel capacity in addition to service in Belawan Container Terminal, liquid bulk terminal and bulk dry. In the future, the Port of Belawan Port directed the President to handle liquid cargo (crude palm oil and its derivatives) and shipping containers. whereas Dumai port will be redirected to service bulk liquid, dry bulk and containerized cargo and other ports will be developed in accordance with business potential in the hinterland of each port.
